Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking EXPERIENCED, skilled and self-motivated Journeyman HVAC Technician to join our team. Must have held a valid Kentucky Journeyman License for a minimum of one year. You will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide range of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, and mechanical systems across various property types. Your expertise will ensure optimal system performance, energy efficiency, and safety standards are met. This position offers an exciting opportunity for experienced technicians eager to apply their technical knowledge in a fast-paced environment while delivering exceptional service to clients. Duties Install, service, and repair HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration equipment (including ammonia refrigeration), and related mechanical components. Read and interpret schematics, technical diagrams, and HVAC design plans to accurately diagnose issues and implement solutions. Perform routine maintenance on HVAC equipment to ensure reliable operation and extend system lifespan. Troubleshoot electrical systems using tools such as ohmmeters and perform equipment repairs or replacements as needed. Conduct plumbing work related to HVAC systems, including pipe fitting and leak repairs. Weld or use other mechanical skills to repair or modify equipment components when necessary. Operate a vehicle safely for field service calls and equipment transportation. Diagnose complex issues involving refrigeration systems, air conditioning units, boilers, and other mechanical systems; utilize field service techniques to resolve problems efficiently. Maintain detailed service records, complete reports on repairs performed, and document system conditions for ongoing property maintenance. Ensure compliance with safety standards and local codes during all installation and repair activities. Experience Proven experience as a service technician specializing in HVAC systems with a strong background in construction or property maintenance environments. Demonstrated ability to read schematics, technical diagrams, and HVAC design plans accurately. Hands-on experience with refrigeration systems including ammonia refrigeration is highly desirable. Mechanical knowledge of boilers, appliances repair, welding techniques, and plumbing is essential. Field service experience working directly at client sites performing maintenance or repairs on HVAC units or related mechanical systems. Familiarity with HVAC equipment repair procedures using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters. Knowledge of safety protocols related to working with refrigerants like ammonia and handling high-pressure systems.
