Job Description

HVAC Service/Chiller Technician Reports to:
Baton Rouge Service Manager Focus Areas:
Commercial HVAC service of all types of equipment. (VRF, DX split systems and rooftop package units, chillers, controls, boilers)
Job Summary:
The Commercial Service Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance and repair of HVAC systems utilizing their knowledge of refrigeration theory, electrical schematics, pneumatics and electronic control systems, pipe fitting, welding/brazing and mechanical layouts. Responsibilities:
  • Following safety procedures to avoid injuries while working with equipment
  • Assisting installing HVAC systems in commercial buildings to ensure appropriate temperature levels for occupants
  • Troubleshooting problems with existing systems in order to determine their cause
  • Diagnosing and repairing problems with air conditioners, chillers, boilers, and other equipment used to control indoor climate conditions
  • Maintaining building equipment, including checking filters and cleaning coils and vents
  • Recommending energy-efficient equipment that meets current industry standards
  • Installing and repairing electrical components in HVAC system
  • Performing preventative maintenance on HVAC systems to reduce repair costs and increase efficiency
Experience and Qualifications:
  • Degree in HVAC or extensive in field experience
  • EPA universal certified
  • Louisiana driver's license/clean DMV records
  • Work Centrifugal or Air Cool Chillers, Glycol Chiller is PLUS
  • Experience with troubleshooting/repairs to commercial HVAC equipment
  • 5+ years of Commercial HVAC service experience
  • Ability to work an on- call rotation and/or overtime to support the needs of customers
License Requirements:
  • HVAC Degree
  • 5 years' experience
