In this vital role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide range of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, and mechanical systems. Responsibilities Install, service, and repair HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration units, and ammonia refrigeration systems. Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals to diagnose issues accurately. Conduct preventative maintenance on HVAC/R equipment to ensure efficient operation and extend system lifespan. Troubleshoot mechanical problems using tools such as ohmmeters and welding equipment; perform equipment repairs as needed. Collaborate with property maintenance teams to coordinate repairs and upgrades for building systems. Perform field service tasks including appliance repair, plumbing work, and general mechanical maintenance. Operate company vehicles safely while transporting tools and parts to job sites; maintain accurate service logs and reports. Requirements Proven experience as an HVAC technician with a strong background in construction, service technician roles, or property maintenance. Extensive knowledge of HVAC design principles, schematics interpretation, refrigeration systems—including ammonia refrigeration—and mechanical systems. Hands-on experience with HVAC/R equipment repair, boiler operation, welding techniques, and appliance servicing. Ability to read technical diagrams and schematics confidently; familiarity with electrical testing tools such as ohmmeters. Mechanical knowledge of plumbing systems, air conditioning units, and ammonia refrigeration is highly desirable. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; experience operating drivers or similar vehicles preferred. Strong field service skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues efficiently in diverse environments. Certifications related to HVAC/R (such as EPA 608), plumbing licenses or other relevant credentials are a plus.
