Job Description
Overview Mark Johnson and Sons Plumbing is expanding services to include Heating and Cooling. As an HVAC Installer / Service technician, where you will play a vital role in installing, maintaining, and repairing heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), refrigeration, and related mechanical systems. This position offers the opportunity to work on diverse projects, from new installations to routine service calls, ensuring optimal comfort and system performance for our clients. Your expertise will help deliver efficient solutions that keep properties comfortable and operational year-round. Duties Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration equipment, and ammonia refrigeration systems. Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and HVAC design plans to execute precise installations and repairs. Conduct field service visits to diagnose issues using tools such as ohmmeters and welding equipment; perform equipment repair and maintenance tasks efficiently. Perform plumbing work related to HVAC systems and property maintenance tasks as needed to ensure system integrity. Utilize mechanical knowledge to identify system faults, perform appliance repairs, and optimize system performance in commercial or residential settings. Operate company vehicles safely while transporting tools and equipment to job sites; adhere to all safety protocols during installations and service calls. Document all work performed accurately in service reports; communicate clearly with team members and clients about system status and recommended solutions. Skills Strong construction background with experience in HVAC installation and service procedures. Proven service technician experience with a focus on HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning/ Refrigeration) systems. Ability to read schematics, technical diagrams, and HVAC design plans confidently. Mechanical knowledge of refrigeration systems, boilers, ammonia refrigeration units, and appliance repair techniques. Skilled in plumbing work related to HVAC applications; familiar with property maintenance practices. Experience with field service operations including troubleshooting using tools such as ohmmeters; performing welding or equipment repair as necessary. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; comfortable operating company vehicles safely on various job sites.
