HVAC/Maintenance Mechanic Engineering/Plant Operations Thibodaux, LA Support Services Full Time, Days, typical hours are 7a-3:30pm, after hour and weekend call required. Posted 04/23/2026 Req # 7301 PRIMARY

PURPOSE/FUNCTION

Responsible for maintaining proper operation of HVAC equipment such as air handler units, heating coils, VMAs, exhaust fans as well as regular maintenance and repair activities for the hospital.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Answers all calls in a timely manner, prioritizing patient needs first. Examine and changes belt on air handling units and exhaust fans. Change filters on air handlers as required. Change motors on HVAC equipment as needed. Wash coils on air handlers, chillers, ice machines, refrigeration equipment, and reheat systems as required Keeps the drain systems clean and working on the HVAC equipment. Completes assigned work orders within his/her shift. Performs duties of Maintenance Mechanic when needed. Assists security as needed. Assists all other departments as required. Orders needed materials.

QUALIFICATIONS

Educational and/or

Professional Qualifications:

1. High school diploma or GED preferred.

Previous Experience:

1. 3-5 years HVAC experience preferred. 2. Hospital maintenance experience desirable.

Other Special Training/Skills:

Must be able to work efficiently without constant supervision. Ability to communicate effectively Must be mechanically inclined. Valid driver's license required.
