Overview The Commercial HVAC Installation Technician is responsible for installing heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning systems in large commercial and government settings. This role ensures that HVAC systems are installed according to manufacturer specifications, local codes, and company standards while delivering high-quality work and excellent customer service. Due to special project work, this position requires availability for project-based, long-term overnight travel on a consistent basis. The length and frequency of travel will vary depending on active project assignments. Technicians have the opportunity to return home on weekends throughout each project. In recognition of the travel commitment, this role includes Travel Pay, Overtime compensation, and Potential Pay Rate Scale (prevailing wage) incentives as added benefits. Responsibilities Install HVAC equipment, including furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, ductwork, rooftop units (RTUs), and mini-splits Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals to plan and execute installations Assemble, mount, and secure HVAC components, ensuring proper alignment and operation Connect electrical wiring, piping, ducting, and refrigerant lines according to manufacturer specifications and local codes Test installed systems for proper operation, efficiency, and safety Diagnose and troubleshoot installation issues, and adjust as needed Ensure all work areas are clean and safe during and after installations Communicate clearly with customers regarding system operation, maintenance, and warranty information Collaborate with team members, project managers, and other trades to ensure timely and accurate project completion Follow all OSHA, EPA, and company safety standards Maintain company tools, equipment, and vehicles in proper working order Qualifications
MUST BE AVAILABLE FOR LONG-TERM, OVERNIGHT TRAVEL ON A REGULAR BASIS FOR PROJECT WORK.
Minimum 3-5 years of HVAC installation experience Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude HVAC Certification [Technical school certification preferred] EPA Certification a plus Valid Driver's License with ability to pass company's MVR requirements Ability to lift 50+ lbs. regularly and adhere to all safety guidelines Familiarity with building codes, HVAC equipment manufacturers, and industry standards What do we offer In exchange for your expertise, R.
