In this pivotal role, you will oversee daily operations, assist field service activities, and ensure the highest standards of quality and safety. Your leadership will drive operational excellence, foster team development, and enhance customer satisfaction through proactive management and technical expertise. Duties Lead and manage a team of service technicians specializing in light commercial HVAC/R systems, ensuring efficient scheduling, dispatching, and completion of service calls. Oversee maintenance, repair, and installation projects involving HVAC units, refrigeration systems, plumbing components, boilers, and other mechanical equipment. Review schematics, technical drawings, and HVAC design plans to troubleshoot issues effectively and implement solutions aligned with project specifications. Conduct field inspections to verify system performance, diagnose problems using tools such as ohmmeters and other diagnostic equipment, and ensure compliance with safety standards. Support service technicians with technical guidance on complex systems like ammonia refrigeration and HVAC controls; promote continuous learning on topics such as welding, appliance repair, and property maintenance. Maintain detailed records of service activities, equipment repairs, parts inventory, and safety documentation to ensure accountability and regulatory compliance. Foster strong relationships with clients by providing clear communication on project status, system recommendations, and maintenance strategies that optimize performance. Qualifications Proven experience as a service technician or mechanic within the HVAC/R industry with a strong understanding of commercial systems. Demonstrated leadership skills managing field service teams in construction or property maintenance environments. Extensive knowledge of HVAC design principles, schematics interpretation, refrigeration systems—including ammonia refrigeration—and plumbing fundamentals. Hands-on experience with equipment repair involving boilers, air conditioning units, appliances, welding techniques, and mechanical troubleshooting. Familiarity with electrical diagnostics using tools like ohmmeters; ability to read electrical schematics accurately. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; experience operating drivers or similar commercial vehicles preferred. Strong mechanical knowledge complemented by experience in maintenance programs for HVAC systems or property infrastructure. Excellent communication skills combined with the ability to train team members on technical procedures and safety protocols.
