- Part-time, Full-time, Contract HVAC Service Contractor Position Type Independent Contractor — 1099 Contract Position Only Impact Warranty Service is seeking experienced HVAC Service Contractors to perform warranty-related service, maintenance, diagnostics, and repair work for residential and light commercial customers.
This is a 1099 independent contractor opportunity only. This is not an employee position. Contractors must provide their own tools, equipment, transportation, insurance, and business documentation. Contractors must already be an established business or be willing to establish a legal business entity before receiving assignments. Responsibilities Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain residential and light commercial HVAC systems. Perform warranty-related service calls, inspections, and repairs. Install and replace HVAC components as needed. Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and manufacturer specifications. Repair HVAC-related components including thermostats, motors, pumps, valves, control boards, and electrical systems. Document work performed, parts used, findings, and recommendations. Communicate professionally with customers and Impact Warranty Service representatives. Ensure all work is completed safely and in compliance with applicable codes, regulations, and manufacturer requirements. Contractor Requirements Minimum of 3 years of HVAC service and repair experience preferred. Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills. Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record. Established HVAC business or willingness to establish a legal business entity. Required local/state licenses, certifications, and permits. EPA certification, if applicable. General Liability Insurance. Current W-9 for 1099 reporting. Tools and Vehicle Requirements Contractors must provide and maintain: Their own service truck, van, or work vehicle. Their own HVAC tools, testing equipment, ladders, and diagnostic devices. Their own mobile phone and internet access for work order communication. Any equipment necessary to complete HVAC work safely and professionally. Compensation Paid per completed service call, approved repair, or agreed contract rate. Contractors are responsible for their own taxes, insurance, fuel, vehicle maintenance, tools, and business expenses. No employee benefits are provided.
