Midland, MI Confidential Opportunity Our client is currently seeking a Commercial Service Technician to join their growing team. The company name will remain confidential until the second interview stage. Position Summary The Commercial Service Technician must demonstrate proficiency in servicing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining heating, cooling, and refrigeration equipment. Building positive customer relationships and delivering excellent customer service is critical for success in this role. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Provide outstanding customer service through positive interactions, professionalism, follow-through, and proactive preparation before arriving at job sites Listen and ask questions to fully understand customer service needs Perform preventative maintenance on heating, cooling, and refrigeration systems Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair commercial and industrial heating, cooling, refrigeration systems, and temperature controls Repair electrical and mechanical HVAC equipment components Perform manufacturer warranty work and service work at customer locations while following customer safety and maintenance procedures Use industry hand tools properly and safely Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, piping schemes, and engineering specifications to diagnose and repair equipment Maintain service and refrigerant inventory records for applicable HVAC/refrigeration equipment while ensuring EPA compliance Observe safety standards and procedures while working at customer sites or company locations Safely operate company vehicles, tools, and equipment while demonstrating professionalism and courtesy at all times Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Experience within the HVAC construction industry preferred Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products and computer systems Ability to learn new concepts and adapt to changing business needs Ability to work within a high-functioning team environment Ability to maintain positive working relationships with coworkers, supervisors, and customers Strong communication and problem-solving skills Strong attention to detail Ability to work independently and collaboratively Education & Experience The following combination of education and experience would typically provide the required knowledge and abilities: High school diploma or GED required Valid driver's license with insurable driving record required HVAC training normally acquired through: HVAC-R program at a community college, or HVAC trade school/program completion Education requirements may vary based on the level of position being filled Physical Requirements This position requires medium physical work, including: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally Exerting up to 20 pounds of force frequently Exerting up to 10 pounds of force constantly This position regularly requires: Climbing Balancing Stooping Kneeling Crouching Reaching Standing Walking Pushing Pulling Lifting Fingering Grasping Tactile sense Repetitive motions Seeing Hearing Talking Visual acuity including color, depth perception, and field of vision Equipment & Tools Used Equipment and tools commonly used in this position include: Company vehicle Ladders Computer equipment HVAC tools and service equipment Working Conditions Physical Conditions Noise Extreme temperatures Vibration Wet and/or humid environments Hazards Mechanical hazards Electrical hazards Atmospheric Conditions Fumes Odors Dust Gases Additional Information Punctuality and attendance are extremely important in this position. Employees are expected to report to work on time, with proper attire and equipment, and be ready to perform assigned duties. If there is any possibility of being late or absent, employees are expected to notify their supervisor immediately.
