Responsibilities Install, service, and repair a wide range of HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration systems (including ammonia refrigeration), and mechanical equipment. Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and HVAC design plans to accurately diagnose issues and implement solutions. Conduct routine maintenance on HVAC/R equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity. Troubleshoot electrical components using tools such as ohmmeters and perform equipment repairs with precision. Perform plumbing tasks related to HVAC systems and property maintenance to ensure proper water flow and drainage. Weld or fabricate parts as needed for system repairs or modifications, adhering to safety standards. Maintain detailed service records, complete shift reports, and document all work performed for accountability and future reference. Experience Proven experience as a service technician with a strong background in HVAC installation, maintenance, and repair. Construction experience or familiarity with building schematics enhances troubleshooting efficiency. Mechanical knowledge spanning HVAC design principles, refrigeration systems (including ammonia refrigeration), boiler operation, and appliance repair. Field service experience working directly on-site at various property types such as commercial or industrial facilities. Knowledge of plumbing systems relevant to HVAC applications is highly desirable. Familiarity with welding techniques and equipment repair processes is a plus. Valid driver's license with a clean record; experience driving vehicles preferred. Certifications in HVAC/R technology or related fields are advantageous; ongoing training encouraged to stay current with industry standards.
