Posting Details Position Information Position Title System Trades/Mechanical Services Job Responsibilities Reports directly to the System Trades Foreman and is responsible for maintenance, repair, modification and installation of various types of plumbing. Will assist in some repairs of heating, ventilation, refrigeration, and air conditioning systems on campus.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Troubleshoot malfunctioning plumbing, water supply, drains, and other systems. Perform appropriate adjustments and repairs to restore proper function. Work on all components of building plumbing systems, including occasional work on controls, fans, dampers, ductwork, terminal boxes, motor drives, heating and cooling coils, pipping and valves, condensers, compressors, chillers, boilers, heat exchangers, etc. Initiate requests for necessary parts and supplies. Complete work order documentation upon completion of work. Maintain an orderly storage of tools, materials, and equipment. Clean shop areas as needed. Be available for emergency night/weekend calls. Be available for overtime and weekend scheduled events. Assume all other reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned by the System Trades Foreman, including some maintenance duties outside of specialty or department.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Ability to read and understand technical manuals and drawings, product instructions and cautions, work orders and work safety procedures. Ability to use hand tools and power mechanical trade tools and equipment. Ability to lift 50 pounds. Ability to climb ladders and work from elevated platforms. Required Qualifications Work history showing dependability and strong work ethic. One year of prior institutional or commercial work experience in any of the following areas: mechanical equipment, commercial plumbing, commercial heating, air conditioning and ventilation. Other specialized work experience not listed may be evaluated for experience credit. Ability to acquire and maintain a valid driver's license.
