Job Description
Service Technician Summary The Service Technician is responsible for troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing commercial cooking, refrigeration, and HVAC equipment in the field. This role requires a strong commitment to customer service and professionalism while working both independently and as part of a team to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction. This is a full-time position with overtime opportunities and an on-call rotation. Key Responsibilities Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair commercial foodservice equipment, refrigeration systems, and HVAC Identify service issues by collecting data, analyzing problems, and determining appropriate solutions Communicate clearly and professionally with customers and management regarding service needs and repairs Provide exceptional customer service and represent the company in a professional manner Accurately document all work performed using service dispatch software via a company-provided electronic device Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient service delivery and customer satisfaction Qualifications Minimum of 2 years of experience with hot side cooking equipment, refrigeration, or HVAC service Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work effectively with both internal teams and external customers Comfortable using electronic devices such as smartphones and tablets Ability to adapt to changes, delays, or unexpected situations Strong organizational skills with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision High attention to safety standards and procedures Must own or be willing to obtain standard hand tools Requirements Valid driver's license and must be insurable under company auto insurance Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check Education & Certifications High school diploma or equivalent required EPA 608 certification required CFESA certification preferred Schedule Full-time, day shift (Monday-Friday) On-call rotation (currently every 6 weeks) Overtime and weekend availability as needed No seasonal layoffs — year-round work Full Benefits Company-paid health, dental, life, and short- & long-term disability insurance (employee coverage) Vision insurance Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Flexible Spending Account (FSA) 401(k) with company match Paid time off (eligible after 6 months) Company-provided uniforms Tool Allowance Boot allowance Company vehicle and cell phone provided Volunteer Time Off CSI is an equal opportunity employer
