Light Commercial HVAC/R Service Technician Denton, NC 27239 $18.00 - $29.89 an hour - Part-time $18.00 - $29.89 an hour - Part-time Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and skilled Light Commercial HVAC/R Service Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, and related mechanical systems in commercial settings. Your expertise will ensure optimal system performance, energy efficiency, and customer satisfaction. Duties Perform installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of HVAC/R systems including air conditioning units, refrigeration equipment, boilers, and plumbing components. Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and HVAC design plans to accurately diagnose issues and execute repairs. Conduct field service calls to assess system performance, identify malfunctions, and implement effective solutions promptly. Utilize tools such as ohmmeters and welding equipment to test electrical circuits and repair mechanical components. Maintain detailed service records, complete work orders, and document all repairs performed for accountability and future reference. Assist with property maintenance tasks related to HVAC/R systems to ensure safety standards are met. Support ammonia refrigeration systems and other specialized equipment as needed while adhering to safety protocols. Qualifications Proven experience as a service technician in HVAC/R or related mechanical fields with a strong understanding of construction principles. Knowledge of schematics, HVAC design concepts, plumbing systems, refrigeration technology, and mechanical troubleshooting. Ability to operate diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters and perform equipment repair including welding when necessary. Mechanical knowledge of boilers, air conditioning units, ammonia refrigeration systems, and property maintenance practices. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; experience operating drivers or similar vehicles preferred. Strong field service skills with the ability to work independently in diverse environments. Experience with appliance repair, HVAC/R maintenance, welding techniques, and mechanical systems is highly desirable.
