Compensation:
$30.00•$35.00 per hour Job Summary Summit Skilled Solutions is seeking a skilled and dependable HVAC Technician to perform preventative, corrective, and predictive maintenance on commercial and industrial HVAC systems. This role requires a safety-focused professional who can troubleshoot, repair, and maintain a wide range of HVAC equipment while working in a fast-paced team environment. The ideal candidate will have experience servicing air handling systems and related equipment, with the ability to analyze system performance and ensure optimal operation. Key Responsibilities Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and installation of HVAC systems including: Air Conditioning Units (ACUs) Air Handling Units (AHUs) Heat Pumps Variable Air Volume (VAV) systems Direct Digital Controls (DDC) Ventilation systems Conduct routine inspections, system testing, and operational monitoring to ensure peak performance Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, control sequences, and service manuals Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS) and ensure proper system functionality Operate refrigerant recovery equipment, vacuum pumps, gauges, and charging systems using best practices Perform brazing, lubrication, and general mechanical maintenance Diagnose system issues, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions Document all service activities, including repairs, findings, and recommendations for future work Maintain accurate logs including: Equipment operation logs Refrigerant records Filter and belt inventory Preventative maintenance documentation Maintain tools, equipment, and workspaces in a clean and safe condition Order necessary parts and supplies for maintenance and repairs Collaborate with maintenance teams and support major repair projects Utilize CMMS systems to track work orders and maintenance activities Safety & Compliance Adhere to all OSHA and company safety standards Utilize proper PPE and follow safe work practices at all times Complete Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) prior to performing work Handle and dispose of hazardous materials in accordance with regulations Maintain awareness of emergency equipment and procedures Additional Responsibilities Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours emergency service Attend manufacturer (OEM) training sessions and professional development courses Complete timesheets and required documentation accurately and on time Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and clients Qualifications Education High School Diploma or equivalent required 2-year HVAC technical certification or state-approved HVAC license preferred Experience Proven experience working on commercial and/or industrial HVAC systems Experience with chillers, boilers, and chilled water systems is a plus Licenses & Certifications Valid driver's license required EPA Universal Refrigeration Certification required Technical Skills Experience with CMMS systems required (Corrigo preferred) Proficiency using mobile devices (tablets, smartphones) for work management Language Skills Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to read and interpret technical documents and manuals Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
