This role is responsible for diagnosing issues, performing preventative maintenance, and ensuring the efficient operation of HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, and mechanical systems. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, technically proficient, and committed to delivering high-quality service in a fast-paced, field-based environment. Key Responsibilities Perform comprehensive inspections, diagnostics, and troubleshooting of HVAC systems, refrigeration units, plumbing fixtures, boilers, and related mechanical equipment. Execute preventative maintenance, repairs, and installations to ensure systems operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable standards. Diagnose electrical and mechanical issues using appropriate testing equipment, including ohmmeters and other diagnostic tools. Interpret and apply technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints to accurately complete repairs and system improvements. Identify opportunities to enhance system performance and energy efficiency, applying sound HVAC design principles. Conduct mechanical repairs such as pipe fitting, welding, equipment calibration, and component replacement as needed. Maintain accurate and detailed service records, including maintenance logs and repair documentation. Collaborate effectively with property management and operations teams to coordinate service schedules and respond to urgent repair requests. Adhere to all safety protocols and regulatory requirements while performing job duties. Qualifications Demonstrated experience as a Service Technician, with a strong background in HVAC/R systems, refrigeration (including ammonia systems), plumbing, or appliance repair. Solid understanding of mechanical systems, HVAC design principles, and general facility maintenance practices. Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, including blueprints and schematics. Proficiency in using diagnostic and testing equipment for electrical and mechanical troubleshooting. Experience with welding, boiler systems, or advanced mechanical repair is preferred. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Work Environment & Expectations This position involves regular fieldwork across multiple sites and may require responding to emergency service calls. Candidates should be comfortable working in a variety of environments and conditions while maintaining a high standard of professionalism and safety.
