Job Description
Sheet Metal Journeyman (HVAC Ductwork) $28
- $38 per hour Hourly rate based on experience and certifications.
ABOUT THE ROLE
You'll install rectangular, round, and oval duct systems on ground-up commercial, healthcare, education, and multifamily projects — working alongside foremen who will value your experience.WHAT YOU'LL DO
Fabricate and install rectangular, round, and oval ductwork per project drawings Lay out, cut, and form sheet metal — galvanized, stainless, and aluminum Install fittings, transitions, plenums, and equipment connections Install RGDs, fire/smoke dampers, access doors, and flex connections Seal ductwork to SMACNA Seal Class A/B standards Install external wrap insulation Hang and support ductwork using trapeze and individual hangers Read blueprints and coordinate routing with other trades in ceiling spaces Operate hand seamers, shears, brakes, and TDC/TDF tooling Mentor and guide apprentices on-the-jobREQUIRED
4+ years commercial sheet metal experience or completed apprenticeship High school diploma or equivalent Valid driver's license Proficiency with hand tools, power shears, and forming equipmentNICE TO HAVE OSHA 10
(we'll train if you don't have it) Aerial lift / scissor lift certification TDC/TDF tooling experience Multi-trade coordination experience in tight ceiling spaces Blueprint reading ability Knowledge of SMACNA fabrication and sealing standardsPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Lift and carry 50+ lbs. Prolonged standing, walking, squatting, reaching Overhead work and climbing stairs Work at varying heights on ladders and aerial lifts Pass a pre-employment physical Perform in all indoor and outdoor climatesWHAT WE OFFER
