Company Overview Viking Yacht Company is a family-owned and operated leader in the production of semi-custom, high-end fiberglass luxury and performance sport fishing yachts ranging from 37 to 92 feet. Overview The HVAC Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems that support company buildings and facility infrastructure. This role ensures proper climate control, air quality, and system reliability across offices, shops, warehouses, and common areas. Duties & Responsibilities HVAC Maintenance & Repairs Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair facility HVAC systems, including rooftop units, split systems, exhaust systems, make-up air units, and associated controls. Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and control issues using appropriate testing equipment and tools. Repair or replace compressors, motors, belts, filters, thermostats, valves, and related components. Perform seasonal startup, shutdown, and system balancing as required. Preventive Maintenance & Inspections Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on HVAC systems to ensure efficient operation and compliance. Monitor system performance and identify potential issues before failures occur. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs. Facilities Support & Projects Support facility renovations, expansions, and improvement projects requiring HVAC modifications or installations. Coordinate with various teams to minimize operational disruptions. Assist with emergency HVAC repairs as needed. Safety, Compliance & Documentation Follow all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and lockout/tagout procedures. Perform work in compliance with applicable mechanical codes and regulations. Properly handle, store, and dispose of refrigerants and materials in accordance with EPA guidelines. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area always.

As required by business needs. Requirements for the Position Strong working knowledge of HVAC systems, components, and controls. Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, and equipment manuals. Proficiency using HVAC diagnostic tools and test equipment. Ability to work independently and respond to facility HVAC issues in a timely manner. Strong focus on safety, reliability, and quality workmanship. Qualifications Required High school diploma or equivalent. 3+ years of experience as an HVAC technician in facilities, commercial, or industrial environments. Hands-on experience maintaining and repairing HVAC systems. EPA Section 608 Certification (required for refrigerant handling). Preferred Experience in a manufacturing or industrial facilities environment. Knowledge of building automation systems (BAS) or HVAC controls. OSHA safety training and familiarity with lockout/tagout procedures. Physical Demands & Work Environment Work performed indoors and outdoors depending on facility needs. Requires standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and climbing ladders or lifts. Ability to lift and carry tools, equipment, and HVAC components. Exposure to temperature extremes, noise, dust, and mechanical equipment. Use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
