Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic team as a Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Technician and become a vital part of maintaining comfortable, safe, and efficient building environments. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and servicing a wide range of HVAC systems, ensuring optimal performance across commercial and residential properties. Your expertise will help keep systems running smoothly while providing exceptional service to clients. Responsibilities Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration equipment, and building automation systems. Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and HVAC design plans to accurately diagnose issues and implement solutions. Perform electrical diagnostics using tools such as ohmmeters to identify faults in electrical components and wiring. Conduct plumbing tasks related to HVAC systems, including pipe fitting and leak repairs. Repair mechanical systems such as pumps, fans, motors, and refrigeration units with precision and efficiency. Utilize welding skills when necessary for equipment repair or fabrication projects. Ensure compliance with EPA regulations by handling refrigerants responsibly and maintaining necessary certifications. Diagnose issues in complex mechanical systems using advanced diagnostic tools; recommend upgrades or replacements when appropriate. Maintain detailed service records, logs, and reports for all work performed; communicate effectively with clients regarding system status and recommended solutions. Support property maintenance efforts by performing routine inspections and preventative maintenance on HVAC equipment. Qualifications Proven experience as an HVAC service technician or in construction with a focus on mechanical systems repair. Strong understanding of schematics, HVAC design principles, building automation systems (BAS), and electrical diagnostics. Knowledge of refrigeration systems including ammonia refrigeration is a plus. Mechanical knowledge related to boilers, pumps, fans, and other HVAC/R equipment is essential. Valid EPA certification for refrigerant handling; additional certifications such as HVAC/R license preferred. Experience with plumbing tasks related to HVAC systems; familiarity with electrical troubleshooting using diagnostic tools like ohmmeters. Ability to read technical manuals and schematics accurately; welding skills are advantageous. Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team in field service environments. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; experience operating drivers is desirable. Prior experience in property maintenance or appliance repair is beneficial; mechanical or mechanic experience highly valued. $26.18 - $31.53 per hour
