Duties Install, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration equipment, and ventilation systems according to schematics and HVAC design plans. Read and interpret technical schematics, blueprints, and mechanical drawings to ensure precise installation and maintenance. Conduct routine maintenance on HVAC equipment, including refrigeration systems such as ammonia refrigeration and HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning / Refrigeration). Use diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters for electrical testing and welding equipment for system repairs or modifications. Perform plumbing tasks related to HVAC systems, ensuring proper fluid flow and refrigerant handling. Diagnose mechanical issues using a variety of tools and techniques; repair or replace faulty components efficiently. Maintain detailed service records, complete shift reports, and document all work performed for quality assurance. Skills Strong construction background with experience in installing HVAC systems in commercial or residential settings. Proven service technician experience with a focus on HVAC/R systems, refrigeration (including ammonia refrigeration), and appliance repair. Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and HVAC design documents accurately. Mechanical knowledge of heating, ventilation, air conditioning systems, boilers, property maintenance, and appliance repair. Experience with field service operations involving equipment repair, maintenance tasks, welding techniques, and property upkeep. Familiarity with plumbing principles relevant to HVAC installations; understanding of refrigerant handling procedures. Competence in using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters; ability to perform electrical troubleshooting effectively. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; experience operating drivers or similar vehicles preferred. Knowledge of ammonia refrigeration systems for specialized applications; understanding of HVAC/R safety protocols.
