ESSENTIAL FUNCTION STATEMENTS
The following tasks are typical for positions in this classification. Any single position may not perform all of these tasks and/or may perform similar related tasks not listed here: 1. Operate heavy equipment or other machines to perform maintenance, construction and repair duties including but not limited to trenchers, jack hammers, backhoes, asphalt spreaders, or related equipment. 2. Perform a variety of painting duties; prepare and finish surfaces, walls and equipment; mix and apply paint and other surface coverings. 3. Perform minor and routine electrical duties; inspect and replace bulbs, ballasts, circuit breakers and related components; install wiring; test systems; refer complex work to higher level electrical staff. 4. Perform a variety of plumbing duties; cut and thread pipes; maintain plumbing installations; install bathroom fixtures and water heaters; clean and drain water and sewer systems. 5. Perform rough and finished carpentry work to install, replace, or repair doors, walls, signs, desks, benches, shelves and tables. 6. Perform roofing duties; scrape and remove roofing material; install and repair roof insulation and decking; install and repair flashing, gutters and downspouts. 7. Perform welding and brazing duties on facilities and equipment; utilize a variety of welding tools and materials. 8. Install and maintain indoor and outdoor playground equipment; fabricate parts as necessary. 9. Pour cement and lay asphalt in the upgrade and repair of school grounds, parking areas and other structures as required. 10. Maintain and repair irrigation sprinklers, sprinkler lines and other landscape watering systems. 11. Read and interpret wiring diagrams and other technical documentation as required. 12. Clean and maintain project area upon completion of work. 13. Follow all safety rules and procedures established for work area. 14. Perform related duties and responsibilities as required.QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge of:
- Operations, services and activities of a general maintenance program.
- Basic principles, procedures, and methods used in the maintenance and repair of an assigned trade area including roofing, carpentry, plumbing, painting and electrical.
- Operational characteristics of general maintenance hand and power tools.
- Shop mathematical principles.
- General construction and maintenance materials.
- Methods and techniques of operating motorized construction and maintenance equipment and materials.
- Methods and techniques of performing routine maintenance in assigned areas.
- Occupational hazards and safe work practices. Ability to:
- Learn principles and methods used within a skilled trade area including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, or other related field.
- Learn to read and interpret maps, blueprints, diagrams and sketches.
- Learn to install, maintain and repair locks.

Education and Experience Guidelines:

Equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade, supplemented by specialized training in a skilled trades maintenance area.Experience:

Develops an effective team of custodial personnel by instructing all employees in the proper methods and use of materials and equipment for safe and efficient work performance, evaluating individual performances to meet established standards, providing require performance evaluations on custodial personnel and making recommendations regarding the retention of new employees. 5. Ensures that custodial personnel have the equipment and supplies necessary to perform custodial services by issuing supplies as needed, completing request form(s) for replacement items, and storing the supplies and equipment in a secure storage facility. 8. Evaluates new custodial supplies and equipment by conducting testing of such items and recommending the appropriateness of their use. 9. Advises the immediate supervisor on the condition of Districts buildings and facilities by conducting regular inspections of those areas and reporting the results of the inspections with particular emphasis on needed repairs. 10. Ensures that records and reports regarding custodial personnel are accurate and current by reviewing employee time cards or monthly time sheets and monitoring employee absences. 11. Performs daily custodial duties as needed in support of the departmental mission. 12. Provides continuity of custodial services under emergency conditions or unique circumstances by performing custodial duties directly related to the emergency conditions or as the situation dictates. 13. Assists with ensuring that specified contract services are provided by the contractor by inspecting the work performed and advising the immediate supervisor when shortcomings or other deficiencies are noted. 14. SUMMARY:
To provide leadership, supervision and set examples for the LAMS Basketball program.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the planning, preparations, and coaching activities of the boys' basketball program from the middle school level to the high school.
- Plan, schedule, and conduct a regular program of practice and competition in accordance with rules of the school, the NMAA, and District 2-4A.
- Assist the Athletic Director and Athletic Trainer in the distribution and collection of appropriate information ( i.e. physical forms, and all other forms that are required by the NMAA, District 2-4A and the high school).

- Oversee the safety and conditions of the facility or area assigned to the boys' basketball programs.
- Assume the responsibility for the supervision, safety, and welfare of students participating in the basketball program before, during, and after scheduled practices and competitive contests.
- Establish and maintain good rapport with athletes, staff, parents, community groups, and news media.
- Assist the Athletic Director in planning and organizing promotion, participant recruitment, and recognition programs pertaining to the sport.

EDUCATION AND / OR EXPERIENCE
