This role focuses on the installation, troubleshooting, commissioning, and maintenance of HVAC controls and Building Automation Systems (BAS) across a variety of commercial facilities. The position is primarily field based throughout the 5 boroughs of New York City, with occasional work in surrounding areas depending on project needs. The ideal candidate will have hands on field experience with low voltage controls wiring, HVAC systems, instrumentation, and building automation technologies. This position is well suited for someone who can work independently in the field, troubleshoot efficiently, communicate professionally, and take pride in delivering high quality work. You will work alongside project managers, engineers, and field teams to support installations, system startups, service calls, and ongoing optimization of building systems that improve energy efficiency, operational performance, and occupant comfort. Responsibilities Run, terminate, and troubleshoot low voltage and controls wiring 0-10V controls 4-20mA devices Relays and contactors Sensors and transmitters Pressure and temperature devices Assist with HVAC controls installation, startup, and commissioning Troubleshoot HVAC control systems, control panels, sensors, actuators, and field devices Read and interpret wiring diagrams, electrical schematics, and control drawings Use multimeters and other diagnostic tools to verify system functionality and troubleshoot issues Support Building Automation System integrations and upgrades Communicate effectively with project managers, engineers, customers, and field personnel Maintain organized documentation of field activities, service work, and system modifications Maintain professional and safe job site practices in accordance with company standards Qualifications Experience with controls wiring, instrumentation, and HVAC control systems Strong understanding of electrical systems and building automation fundamentals Ability to troubleshoot relays, sensors, control devices, and BAS components independently Experience using multimeters and standard electrical troubleshooting tools Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and control schematics HVAC Controls or Building Automation experience preferred Experience with BACnet systems is a plus Experience with control panels, field installations, and commissioning preferred Strong communication and customer service skills Ability to work independently and manage field responsibilities effectively Valid driver's license preferred Work Environment & Schedule Full-time position Monday through Friday Field work primarily throughout the NYC 5 boroughs, with occasional work in surrounding areas depending on project needs Overtime opportunities available Compensation $35-$45 per hour based on experience Overtime opportunities available Health insurance Dental insurance Vision insurance Paid Time Off (PTO) Preferred Experience HVAC Controls Building Automation Systems (BAS) BACnet Control panels Field installation and troubleshooting Sensors and instrumentation HVAC startup and commissioning
