In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of HVAC systems, ensuring optimal performance and energy efficiency. Your expertise will help keep our clients comfortable and safe while supporting property maintenance operations across diverse settings. We are a Local 638 Steamfitter shop and pay depends on experience. Responsibilities Diagnose and troubleshoot HVAC systems, including air conditioning units, refrigeration equipment, and related mechanical components using schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals. Perform routine maintenance tasks such as filter replacements, system calibrations, and preventive inspections to ensure system reliability. Repair or replace defective parts on HVAC equipment, including compressors, motors, valves, thermostats, and electrical components. Conduct plumbing repairs related to HVAC systems and assist with appliance repair or property maintenance as needed. Install new HVAC systems or upgrade existing setups following HVAC design specifications and safety standards. Use tools such as ohmmeters and welding equipment to test electrical circuits and perform mechanical repairs efficiently. Maintain detailed service records, work orders, and inspection reports to ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies. Requirements Proven experience as a service technician in the HVAC industry or related mechanical fields. Strong knowledge of HVAC systems—including air conditioning, refrigeration, along with mechanical aptitude. Ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams, and HVAC design plans accurately. Familiarity with plumbing systems and appliance repair techniques relevant to property maintenance. Experience working with field service operations in diverse environments such as commercial or industrial facilities. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record is a plus. Proficiency with diagnostic tools like ohmmeters; welding skills are advantageous. Mechanical knowledge of equipment repair procedures involving refrigeration systems is preferred. Strong problem-solving skills combined with excellent communication abilities for effective customer interactions.
