Responsibilities Assist senior technicians with installing HVAC systems, including ductwork, vents, and equipment. Support maintenance and repair tasks on heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, and related mechanical systems. Help interpret schematics and technical diagrams to aid in troubleshooting and system setup. Prepare job sites by gathering tools and materials needed for various HVAC tasks. Perform basic plumbing tasks related to HVAC systems such as pipe fitting and drainage connections. Conduct routine inspections of HVAC equipment to identify issues and support repairs using tools like ohmmeters and welding equipment. Support service technicians during field service calls for appliance repair, property maintenance, or emergency HVAC issues. Assist with refrigerant handling procedures including ammonia refrigeration systems under supervision. Maintain accurate records of work performed and parts used for each job. Follow safety protocols diligently to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and team members. Skills Basic construction knowledge with an understanding of mechanical systems and building layouts. Prior experience as a service technician or in property maintenance is highly desirable. Ability to read schematics, technical manuals, and HVAC design documents. Familiarity with plumbing, refrigeration systems, air conditioning units, boilers, and ammonia refrigeration is a plus. Mechanical knowledge related to equipment repair and maintenance procedures. Experience working in the field service environment with a focus on appliance repair or HVAC/R systems. Proficiency with tools such as ohmmeters; welding skills are advantageous but not required. Strong mechanical aptitude combined with excellent problem-solving skills. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; driver experience preferred for transportation between job sites. Willingness to learn about HVAC design principles and stay updated on industry standards.
