Full Job Description Job Summary:
We are seeking an HVAC Technician to service, diagnose, and repair heating and air conditioning systems. This role involves troubleshooting electrical and mechanical issues, performing preventative maintenance, and ensuring equipment is safe and operating correctly after service.
Key Responsibilities:
Diagnose HVAC system problems using standard troubleshooting techniques and test equipment. Repair or replace components such as compressors, motors, thermostats, blowers, condensers, and air handlers. Perform preventative maintenance, tune-ups, and seasonal inspections. Check refrigerant pressures and airflow, and handle refrigerant safely in accordance with regulations. Inspect ductwork, vents, and airflow performance and recommend corrective actions. Verify system operation and performance after repairs and maintenance. Maintain accurate service documentation, including work orders and parts used. Follow all safety policies, including PPE use and lockout/tagout procedures where required.
Required Qualifications:
Hands-on experience repairing and maintaining HVAC systems. Ability to troubleshoot using multimeter, gauges, and common HVAC tools. Knowledge of electrical and mechanical components related to HVAC systems. Familiarity with relevant safety procedures and work standards. Valid driver's license if traveling to job sites is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
EPA certification for refrigerant handling (Type I or Universal as applicable). HVAC trade certification or apprenticeship completion. Experience with residential and light commercial service.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift tools, parts, and equipment. Ability to work in attics, crawl spaces, and outdoor environments. Ability to stand, kneel, climb ladders, and work for extended periods.
