This role involves overseeing the installation process of complex HVAC systems, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with design specifications and industry standards. The ideal candidate will possess extensive construction experience, mechanical knowledge, and strong leadership skills to coordinate multiple trades and ensure seamless project execution. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to innovative building solutions while maintaining high standards of safety and quality. Responsibilities Lead and supervise HVAC installation crews, ensuring adherence to project timelines, safety protocols, and quality standards. Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and clients to interpret schematics, HVAC design plans, and technical specifications. Oversee the installation of mechanical systems including air conditioning units, refrigeration equipment, boilers, and building automation systems. Conduct site inspections to verify proper installation techniques and troubleshoot issues related to electrical diagnostics, plumbing, or mechanical systems. Ensure compliance with environmental regulations such as EPA standards for refrigerants and ammonia refrigeration systems. Perform or oversee equipment repair, maintenance tasks, welding operations, and mechanical systems repair as needed. Maintain detailed documentation of work progress, safety reports, and inspection records. Manage field service activities including appliance repair and property maintenance tasks related to HVAC/R systems. Utilize tools such as ohmmeters for electrical diagnostics and ensure all work meets industry codes and safety standards. Train and mentor apprentices or junior technicians to develop their skills in HVAC installation and troubleshooting. Requirements Proven construction experience with a focus on HVAC system installation; prior experience as a service technician is highly desirable. Strong mechanical knowledge encompassing HVAC design, refrigeration, plumbing, electrical diagnostics, and building automation systems. Demonstrated ability to read schematics accurately and interpret technical drawings. Experience with HVAC/R equipment repair, boiler systems, ammonia refrigeration, and mechanical systems repair. Valid EPA certification for refrigerant handling; additional certifications in electrical diagnostics or welding are advantageous. Mechanical aptitude complemented by experience with field service operations including appliance repair and property maintenance. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; familiarity with driver requirements preferred. Proficiency using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters; experience with equipment repair is essential. Ability to lead teams effectively while managing multiple projects simultaneously in a dynamic environment. Excellent communication skills to coordinate with clients, vendors, and team members across diverse settings.
