This energetic position offers the opportunity to diagnose, repair, and maintain a wide range of HVAC systems, including air conditioning, heating units, ventilation systems, refrigeration, and building automation controls. Your expertise will help homeowners enjoy reliable climate control while supporting sustainable and energy-efficient solutions. Responsibilities Perform installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of residential HVAC systems such as air conditioners, furnaces, boilers, ventilation units, and refrigeration equipment. Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, blueprints, and building automation system diagrams to accurately diagnose issues. Conduct electrical diagnostics using tools like ohmmeters and multimeters to identify faults in mechanical systems and electrical components. Repair plumbing connections related to HVAC equipment and ensure proper refrigerant handling following EPA regulations. Utilize welding skills for equipment repair or modifications when necessary to ensure system integrity. Diagnose complex mechanical problems involving refrigeration cycles, ammonia refrigeration systems, or boiler operations. Maintain detailed service records, complete work orders promptly, and communicate clearly with clients about system status and recommended solutions. Adhere to safety standards including EPA certification requirements for refrigerant handling and proper use of personal protective equipment. Support property maintenance tasks related to HVAC/R systems to optimize building performance and occupant comfort. Assist in upgrading or installing building automation systems that enhance energy efficiency and user control. Qualifications Proven experience as an HVAC service technician with construction experience preferred. Strong mechanical knowledge with expertise in HVAC design principles and system repair. Familiarity with schematics, electrical diagnostics, refrigeration cycles, plumbing connections, and building automation controls. Valid EPA certification for refrigerant handling; additional certifications such as HVAC/R or ammonia refrigeration are advantageous. Experience with equipment repair involving welding or boiler maintenance is highly desirable. Ability to operate diagnostic tools including ohmmeters and field service equipment confidently. Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to troubleshooting complex mechanical issues. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; ability to operate a driver vehicle if required. Strong communication skills to explain technical issues clearly to clients and team members alike.
