Facilities Technician Pay up to $38/hr 1st Shift - 8am-4:30pm Job Description Join our team as a Facilities Technician, where you will play a pivotal role in maintaining and optimizing our facility's HVAC and electrical systems. This position offers you the opportunity to work in a dynamic R D environment, collaborating with a team that values safety, precision, and continuous improvement. Responsibilities Maintain and repair refrigeration, kitchen equipment, heat exchangers, HVAC, electrical, and water systems throughout the facility. Monitor, operate, and adjust refrigeration, chilled water, air conditioning equipment, ventilating, and hot water systems. Perform preventive maintenance on all base building and critical system equipment with minimal disruption to operations. Conduct routine rounds, record system readings, analyze operational data, and take corrective action as needed. Complete work orders, maintain communication logs, document equipment repairs, and track time accurately in the CMMS. Maintain tools, order supplies as required, and report supply shortages or equipment problems to leadership. Ensure compliance with departmental policies for safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials. Essential Skills EPA 608 Certification Minimum 5 years' experience in HVAC or refrigeration trade Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, schematics, and equipment manuals Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with mechanical and electrical systems Effective communication skills Additional Skills & Qualifications High school diploma or state equivalent plus minimum of four years of related trade schooling or two years of college Experience troubleshooting and repairing packaged air handlers and lab equipment Experience working with building automation systems such as Siemens or Johnson Controls Familiarity with computer equipment, programs, and CMMS work order systems Knowledge of OSHA standards and local building codes Why Work Here?
