HVAC apprentice

Duties Assist senior technicians with installing, troubleshooting, and repairing HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, and refrigeration equipment. Learn to read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and HVAC design plans to support system installation and maintenance. Support field service operations by performing routine maintenance tasks on HVAC equipment and property systems. Help with plumbing tasks related to HVAC systems such as pipe fitting and drainage connections. Use diagnostic tools like ohmmeters to identify electrical issues within HVAC units. Participate in equipment repair projects including welding or mechanical adjustments as needed. Support safety protocols during all tasks, including proper handling of ammonia refrigeration systems and other hazardous materials. Skills Basic understanding of construction principles and mechanical systems. Prior service technician experience or related field service background is a plus. Familiarity with schematics, wiring diagrams, and HVAC system layouts. Knowledge of HVAC design concepts, refrigeration techniques, and plumbing fundamentals. Mechanical aptitude with experience in appliance repair or property maintenance preferred. Ability to operate diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters and field testing equipment safely. Strong willingness to learn welding techniques, boiler operations, and ammonia refrigeration handling. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; experience operating drivers or similar vehicles advantageous.
