HVAC Journeyman

Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and reliable HVAC Journeyman to install, maintain, and repair heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems in residential, commercial, or industrial settings. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge, relevant certifications, and a proven track record of safety and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

Install, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC systems including furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, and ventilation equipment. Perform preventive maintenance on HVAC systems. Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications. Install electrical components and wiring related to HVAC systems. Test HVAC systems and components for functionality and performance. Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time spent on each job. Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and safety regulations. Collaborate with apprentices, supervisors, and other trades to complete work efficiently. Provide excellent customer service and communicate effectively with clients and coworkers. Stay up-to-date with industry trends, tools, and technologies.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or

GED. HVAC

Journeyman License or equivalent certification (state-specific). 3-5 years of HVAC installation and repair experience. Knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems. EPA 608 Certification (Type I, II, or Universal). Ability to read and interpret schematics and blueprints. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Physical ability to lift heavy equipment, work in confined spaces, and in various weather conditions. Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Preferred Skills:

Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS). Familiarity with smart thermostats and modern HVAC controls. Strong customer service and communication skills. OSHA safety training certification.

Working Conditions:

May require overtime, weekends, and on-call hours. Work may be performed indoors and outdoors in varying conditions. Requires use of ladders, lifts, and other mechanical equipment.

$20.00 - $28.00 per hour
