- Full-time Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and motivated HVAC Journeyman to join our dynamic team.
In this vital role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, and related mechanical systems across various commercial and residential properties. Your expertise will ensure optimal system performance, energy efficiency, and safety compliance. A strong foundation in construction, service technician experience, and mechanical systems is essential to excel in this role. Duties Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration equipment, and ammonia refrigeration systems. Read and interpret schematics, HVAC design plans, and technical manuals to accurately execute installations and repairs. Perform routine maintenance on HVAC equipment and property systems to ensure optimal operation and longevity. Conduct field service visits for troubleshooting issues on-site at commercial or residential locations. Repair appliances and mechanical components using appropriate tools such as ohmmeters and welding equipment. Assist with plumbing tasks related to HVAC systems and property maintenance projects as needed. Operate a driver vehicle safely for transportation of tools, parts, or equipment between job sites. Skills Extensive construction experience combined with hands-on service technician expertise in HVAC/R systems. Proficiency in reading schematics and understanding HVAC design principles for accurate system installation and troubleshooting. Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in equipment repair, welding, boiler operation, and appliance repair. Familiarity with refrigeration systems including ammonia refrigeration applications. Ability to use diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters effectively for electrical troubleshooting. Knowledge of property maintenance practices related to HVAC systems and general building operations.
