About this PositionGENERAL SUMMARY
This position is responsible for service and preventative maintenance of heating, refrigeration, and air conditioning equipment on the OSUIT campus. Required QualificationsEducation:
High School diploma or GED required. Associate degree preferred.Experience:
Evidences a history of demonstrating ethical and professional behavior. Two year minimum of Journeyman level operation, maintenance and repair experience in HVAC/Refrigeration trade. Certifications, Registrations, and/orLicenses:
Must possess and maintain a valid Oklahoma driver's license. Must possess and maintain a valid Journeyman's license in HVAC as well as an EPA Refrigerant Handler's license. Skills, Proficiencies, and/orKnowledge:
Skills and Abilities:
Ability to work independently and multi-task effectively. Ability to handle multiple work priorities simultaneously and work with minimal supervision in a highly self-motivated manner. Must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds. With assistance, must be able to lift, transport, and move equipment and materials weighing several hundred pounds. Must be proficient in standard practices of the HVAC/Refrigeration trade, including but not limited to the knowledge of applicable building codes, ordinances and regulations pertaining to HVAC, refrigeration and boilers; operation of air compressors and pneumatic controls; cooling tower and boiler water treatment. Must be knowledgeable of health and safety regulations, including proper storage methods of equipment, materials and supplies. Proficient in the materials, methods and tools used in the operation and repair of HVAC and refrigeration systems. Knowledge of welding and soldering techniques. Position requires that employee be able to stand, walk, kneel, crouch, bend, reach, and have use of all limbs.Communication Skills:
Must be able to read and write and follow directives. Ability to communicate effectively with a positive attitude. Excellent listening skills and customer responsiveness are essential.
