Job Title:
Facility Technician Job Description The Facility Technician, also known as the Building Engineer, is responsible for the safe operation, monitoring, maintenance, and repair of HVAC, mechanical, electrical, building, and cleanroom systems within a high-tech semiconductor manufacturing and R& D environment. This role supports critical building infrastructure to ensure continuous, reliable facility operations. Responsibilities Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot HVAC systems including chillers, air handlers, VAVs, AHUs, exhaust systems, and conveyor systems. Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical and electrical building systems as well as cleanrooms. Assign tasks to team members and ensure all duties are completed in a timely manner. Install, repair, adjust, service, and maintain electric or pneumatic control systems used for building heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems. Inspect and conduct ongoing maintenance on building HVAC equipment to ensure proper operation and compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, and work safety. Troubleshoot equipment failures and identify the best course of action for equipment modifications. Apply in-depth knowledge of standard principles and procedures to accomplish complex assignments and provide innovative solutions. Coach others and share in-depth knowledge of own job discipline and broad knowledge of several job disciplines within the function. Lead by example and model behaviors consistent with company values. Impact a range of customer, operational, project, or service activities within own team and related teams. Work within broad guidelines and policies. Essential Skills HVAC systems knowledge EPA Universal certification Facilities maintenance experience Mechanical and building maintenance skills Troubleshooting abilities Preventive maintenance Experience with boilers and chillers 3-5+ years of experience in HVAC, facilities, or industrial maintenance Strong working knowledge of mechanical and HVAC systems Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work from ladders or elevated platforms Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in semiconductor, cleanroom, or advanced manufacturing facilities Familiarity with BAS/BMS systems (Siemens, Honeywell, Johnson Controls, etc.) Electrical or controls troubleshooting experience Prior experience with outsourced FM companies
