Job Description

Commercial HVAC Service Technician (Growth Opportunity) Reitmeier in is looking for a motivated individual with HVAC experience who's ready to grow into a Commercial HVAC Service Technician role. About the Role This position is hands‑on and field‑focused. You'll support routine service calls, assist with complex troubleshooting, and build your technical capabilities through ongoing training and real‑world commercial HVAC experience. Primary Responsibilities Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain commercial HVAC systems Learn to work with electric/electronic (DDC) controls Learn to service air conditioning, refrigeration, boilers, chillers, and compressed air systems Assist with natural gas piping installations and repairs Learn to Test, record, and balance air and hydronic systems Track tools, parts, and equipment Communicate with customers during service work Build skills through field experience and continuing education What We're Looking For Prior HVAC or mechanical experience (commercial experience preferred) Positive attitude and willingness to learn Dependable, accountable, and team‑oriented Comfortable interacting with customers, coworkers, and supervisors Strong interest in long‑term HVAC career growth Ability to stay organized and follow direction in the field Preferred Experience & Certifications (Not required , may be earned during employment) HVAC trade or technical school education Valid Oregon driver's license (required)
EPA Certification Brazing Certification Limited Energy License:
Oregon (LEB) and Washington (6A) Oregon Boiler Class 3 (CL3) License Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, climb, bend, and work in tight spaces Lift 25 lbs. regularly, 50 lbs. frequently, and up to 100 lbs. occasionally Good close, distance, color, and depth perception Work indoors and outdoors in varying conditions Work Environment Exposure to mechanical and electrical systems Work in all weather conditions Moderate to loud noise levels Exposure to heat, cold, humidity, and occasional hazardous materials Day‑to‑Day Expectations Communicate daily with the Service Coordinator regarding job status Complete service, maintenance, and contract work Diagnose and repair commercial HVAC systems Learn to work on controls, refrigeration systems, boilers, chillers, and related equipment Request purchase order numbers before buying parts or supplies Complete job notes, reports, and invoices Maintain a clean, organized, and stocked company vehicle Clean job sites after work is completed Follow all safety procedures and jobsite requirements Attend scheduled training and continuing education Communicate field conditions and updates to the Service Manager Complete assigned work on schedule Support urgent or unexpected service needs when required Reitmeier University Reitmeier University is an accredited two‑year continuing education program designed to train and certify new employees in commercial HVAC service. Held in our state‑of‑the‑art training facility, the program blends classroom instruction, hands‑on lab work, and real‑world field application. Students are encouraged to bring in on‑the‑job experiences and challenges to strengthen problem‑solving skills and deepen technical understanding. The program was created to build institutional knowledge, support professional growth, and introduce new team members to the Reitmeier way and culture. RU also helps prepare technicians for key industry credentials, including obtaining their Limited Energy License, Oregon (LEB) as part of their technical development.
