Custodial/Maintenance Supervisor
JOB GOAL
The M-1 Maintenance HVAC/Electrician shall be in charge of maintaining the building and grounds in a safe, sanitary condition in order that learning may take place in a safe, pleasant, comfortable, and healthy environment and understands that he/she is responsible to the entire physical plant and grounds of the school and duties are not segregated to an area of assignment.
PERFORMANCE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain the building and grounds in a safe, orderly and clean manner. Maintain the building and grounds in the most cost-efficient manner possible. Work with the custodial/maintenance staff. Prepare and submit budgetary requests to the Custodial/Maintenance Supervisor as needed. Perform maintenance work inside and outside the building including but not limited to plumbing, electrical maintenance, painting, flooring, HVAC, Carpentry, and other hardware issues as assigned by the Custodial Maintenance Supervisor. Responsible for all HVAC systems and their maintenance. Responsible for the implementation of the preventative maintenance program. Responsible for ensuring the pole barn is kept neat and organized and meets state and national safety requirements. Works with administrative staff on code, safety, and compliance issues. Maintain all school vehicles in regard to preventative maintenance and inspection procedures as directed by the Custodial Maintenance Supervisor. Help maintain grounds, gardens, driveways, islands and other landscape features. Operate equipment including but not limited to leaf blowers, weed whackers, tractors and mowers in those processes. Assist, when assigned, in the preparation of Athletic fields for practices and events. Under the direction of the Custodial/Maintenance Supervisor, ensure all power equipment is properly maintained and in good working condition. Remove snow and ice from sidewalks, parking lots and any other area used by teachers, students, and visitors. Coordinate all maintenance work, including work which involves outside vendors with the Custodial Maintenance Supervisor. Drive school vehicles to transport students, make deliveries and/or pick up materials and supplies. Operate a forklift when required to effectuate these duties. Update Custodial/Maintenance Supervisor of building conditions. Must have the ability to work overtime as required by the Custodial/Maintenance Supervisor. Perform any other duties as assigned by the Custodial/Maintenance Supervisor.
SELECTION
Appointment shall be by the Joint Operating Committee following the recommendation of the Administrative Director.
EVALUATION
Performance to be evaluated annually by the Administrative Director or her/his designee.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Twelve (12) month year. Salary to be determined by the Joint Operating Committee.
