BIM/VDC Technician
III - REMOTE VDC
Technician Opportunity (Remote) Our team is currently seeking an experienced VDC Technician for a remote position within a dynamic team. This role is focused on producing detailed and constructible BIM/VDC models and drawings, aimed at optimizing productivity throughout all phases of the construction process. You'll work independently, with the possibility of guiding other technicians depending on project needs. Why Join Us? BIM Model Development:
Create and refine 3D models of piping, plumbing, and/or ductwork systems, ensuring they align with building codes, construction standards, and project criteria.Setup & Organization:
Efficiently organize project backgrounds and shop drawing files in accordance with company standards.System Modeling:
Accurately model and route piping, plumbing, and/or ductwork systems while communicating any necessary clarifications with project leadership.Coordination & Troubleshooting:
Collaborate with other trades to overlay and adjust systems as required, ensuring seamless integration. Maintain sign-off record drawings and resolve any BIM model queries.Final Detailing:
Finalize shop drawings by adding all necessary annotations, tags, and dimensions. Prepare required spool sheets, BOMs, and ensure all revisions pass QA/QC checks.Collaboration & Leadership:
Depending on the project scope, provide direction, training, and mentorship to other detailers, while fostering a safe and positive work environment.Qualifications:
Proficient in BIM/VDC modeling and detailing, particularly for piping, plumbing, and/or ductwork systems. Strong grasp of construction standards, building codes, and multi-trade coordination. Ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks. Experience with equipment take-offs and preparing buy-out item lists is a plus.
