Job Description

Senior Licensed Mechanical Technician Location :
Abner Solar Position Summary:
The Senior Licensed Mechanical Technician will play a key role in the construction of Abner Solar's new manufacturing facility. This position is responsible for overseeing and performing the installation, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of mechanical systems (HVAC, piping, ventilation, cooling, and related equipment) to ensure compliance with design specifications, building codes, and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities :
Lead and participate in the installation, testing, and commissioning of mechanical systems including HVAC, process piping, compressed air, and ventilation. Read and interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, and schematics to ensure accurate installation per project requirements and South Carolina building codes. Conduct on-site quality inspections, system balancing, troubleshooting, and optimization. Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and other MEP trades to ensure seamless integration. Enforce safety protocols (OSHA and company standards) and mentor junior technicians. Support project scheduling, material inspections, punch list resolution, and handover documentation.
Qualifications:
Valid South Carolina Mechanical Contractor License (or equivalent Journeyman/Master HVAC/Mechanical License). 5+ years of experience in industrial or manufacturing facility MEP construction, preferably inhigh-tech or clean energy projects. Strong ability to read blueprints and use mechanical testing equipment. Excellent safety awareness, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail. Effective communication and teamwork skills; bilingual (English/Chinese) is a plus. Ability to work in a construction site environment with physical demands.
Salary range:
