HVAC LEAD INSTALLATION TECHNICIAN
Harbin Heating and Air Conditioning, Inc. (HHA) has an immediate opening for a Lead Installation Technician. JOB SUMMARY
The Lead Installation Technician is responsible for directing and managing the installation team responsible for installing or replacing HVAC systems, ensuring the job is completed timely, accurately and within budget cost parameters. This position oversees the installation of new or replacement units and parts and ensures work is completed according to company specifications and established safety guidelines. The Lead Installation Technician sets the example for the team by providing exceptional customer service at all times by treating customers with the utmost respect and attention.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Leads the installation team of each assigned job in an effective and productive manner. Designs and coordinates the layout required to install HVAC systems and products. Removes previously installed equipment. Installs every aspect of residential and light commercial HVAC systems and products, from start to finish of job. Assigns duties to each team member. Provides guidance and knowledge to HVAC Installer or Helper on proper skills and training of HVAC installation jobs; Designs, fabricates and installs various metal and flexible duct materials and duct fittings as required. Installs mini-split systems. Utilizes skills of basic wiring and gas piping to effectively install HVAC systems and products. Completes all paperwork in a neat, accurate, thorough and timely manner; Works under minimum supervision to install HVAC equipment in customer's home; Participate in training as directed by management. Communicates with manager any problems or challenges that occur during installation process to ascertain alternative solutions. Communicates system features effectively to customer upon completion of installation, answering questions and providing optimal customer service. Keeps all required paperwork, logs and records of installation functions. Maintains service truck based on company expectations. Ensures compliance with appliance standards and with Health and Safety Act. Practices industry safety and compliance procedures. Completes all services rendered using protective measures to keep customer's home or business clean and undamaged. Participates in company-provided training opportunities on customer service and the latest industry technologies. Completes other duties as assigned by supervisor.
PREREQUISITE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
High school diploma, GED or suitable equivalent. Completion of trade/technical school program a plus. 5+ yeas HVAC or related industry verified experience EPA Certification. NATE Certification. 2+ years leading a team, preferably in HVAC industry. Valid driver's license and good driving record. Understanding of industry safety practices and compliance procedures Familiar with HVAC wiring diagrams. Knowledge of installation and fabrication of ductwork. Proficient electrical and mechanical diagnostic skills. Knowledge of applicable installation and venting codes. Able to draw simple diagrams, read blueprints, and other diagrams. Proficient skills reading schematics and work plans. Proficient troubleshooting skills. Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills. Excellent communications skills. Must have exceptional attention to detail. Strong organizational and time management skills, and ability to prioritize. Must be a self-starter and driven with a positive attitude. Strong problem-solving skills. Strong teamwork skills. Strong leadership skills. Basic understanding of Microsoft Office products. Dependability beyond reproach. High-level commitment to attendance and punctuality.
ENVIRONMENTAL, PHYSICAL, AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to operate tablet, mobile phone and other field equipment as needed Ability to read, write, speak, hear, see, think, communicate, concentrate, learn, and work Ability to lift/carry up to 75 lbs. without assistance repeatedly during work hours Ability to climb up and down ladders and/or step stools repeatedly during work hours Ability to sit/stand for long periods of time during work hours Ability to frequently squat, stoop or kneel, reach above the head and reach forward. Ability to work in small and confined dark spaces such as crawl spaces, attics, etc. Ability to work in a wide range of temperatures (indoor/outdoor) Ability to travel up to 75% of the time between job sites and customer locations Correctible vision and hearing. Ability to communicate verbally in English in a clear understandable speaking voice both in person and on the telephone. Ability to manage multiple tasks with changing priorities.
