Job Description

Job Summary Results-driven Lead Commercial HVAC Installation Technician with extensive hands-on experience spearheading mechanical and refrigeration installations as well as gas piping. Proven expertise in managing complex commercial projects from blueprint to commissioning, including high-capacity HVAC units, walk-in coolers, freezers, and industrial kitchen systems. A strong on-site leader skilled in coordinating field crews, ensuring strict compliance with mechanical, electrical, and safety codes, and collaborating with project stakeholders to deliver high-efficiency builds on time and within scope. Duties Lead and coordinate HVAC installation projects from start to finish, ensuring timely completion and adherence to technical plans and schematics. Supervise and mentor a team of installer technicians, providing guidance on installation techniques, safety protocols, and troubleshooting procedures. Read and interpret HVAC schematics, blueprints, and design documents to accurately install heating, ventilation, air conditioning systems, including refrigeration units and ammonia refrigeration systems. Perform mechanical tasks such as welding, pipefitting, and equipment repair to ensure optimal system performance. Ensure all installations comply with local codes, safety regulations, and company standards; maintain detailed documentation of work performed. Operate diagnostic tools including ohmmeters for electrical testing; utilize HVAC/R knowledge for troubleshooting complex issues involving refrigeration or boiler systems. Manage property maintenance tasks related to HVAC systems; coordinate with clients on system upgrades or repairs as needed. Drive company vehicles safely while transporting equipment and materials to job sites; maintain vehicle logs and adhere to transportation policies. Experience Proven experience in construction or HVAC installation with a strong background in service technician roles. Extensive knowledge of HVAC design principles, schematics reading, plumbing systems, refrigeration technology, and mechanical systems. Hands-on experience with equipment including boilers, refrigeration units (including ammonia refrigeration), appliances, and HVAC/R systems. Skilled in welding techniques and mechanical maintenance; familiar with the use of tools such as ohmmeters for electrical diagnostics. Demonstrated leadership capabilities in supervising field service teams; ability to train and motivate technicians effectively. Prior experience working with property maintenance teams or performing appliance repair is highly desirable. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; experience operating various types of vehicles used in field service operations.
