As we continue to grow, we're seeking an experienced HVAC Service & Sales Technician who can deliver exceptional technical service while identifying genuine equipment upgrade opportunities for homeowners.
Position Overview:
This unique hybrid role combines the technical expertise of an HVAC service technician with significant earning potential through ethical equipment sales. You'll diagnose and repair heating and cooling systems while serving as a trusted advisor to customers, presenting clear repair versus replacement options when appropriate.
What makes this different:
You'll work exclusively with warm leads from existing service calls —no cold calling required. When you identify systems that are beyond economical repair or significantly underperforming, you'll transition into a consultative sales role, helping customers make informed decisions while maximizing your earning potential.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Service:
Perform comprehensive diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on residential HVAC systems (furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, ductwork) Troubleshoot complex system issues across various brands and equipment types Install basic accessories including thermostats, air quality products, and system upgrades Maintain accurate service documentation using company mobile applications
Sales & Customer Relations:
Assess overall system health and present repair versus replacement options clearly and honestly Prepare detailed proposals for equipment replacements, including energy efficiency comparisons and financing options Educate customers about indoor air quality products, maintenance agreements, and system upgrades Close sales on new equipment installations while maintaining customer trust and satisfaction Coordinate with installation teams for smooth project transitions Meet monthly sales targets while maintaining high service quality standards
Required Qualifications:
Experience:
Minimum 3-5 years of residential HVAC service experience
Certification:
EPA 608 Universal Certification (required)
License:
Valid driver's license with clean driving record
Technical Skills:
Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities across various HVAC brands
Communication:
Ability to explain technical concepts clearly to homeowners
Physical:
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, work in attics/crawlspaces, and handle varying weather conditions
Sales Comfort:
Willingness to discuss pricing and replacement options with customers
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience in service-to-sales or HVAC equipment sales role Track record of meeting sales goals in previous positions
Compensation & Benefits:
Earning Potential:
Competitive hourly base rate: $25-35/hour (based on experience) Uncapped commission on equipment sales and accessories Performance bonuses Top performers consistently earn $100,000-200,000+ annually
