In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting a wide range of HVAC systems in residential settings. Your expertise will ensure that homes are equipped with reliable heating, cooling, ventilation, and refrigeration solutions. Duties Install, service, and repair residential HVAC systems including air conditioning units, furnaces, boilers, ventilation systems, and refrigeration equipment. Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and HVAC design plans to accurately install or troubleshoot systems. Conduct routine maintenance on HVAC equipment to optimize performance and extend lifespan. Diagnose mechanical issues using tools such as ohmmeters and other diagnostic devices; perform electrical testing and repairs as needed. Perform plumbing work related to HVAC systems including refrigerant lines, condensate drainage, and gas connections. Repair appliances and mechanical components such as pumps, valves, motors, and welders to ensure system integrity. Maintain detailed service records, complete shift reports, and document all repairs or installations performed. Ensure compliance with safety standards and local building codes during all work activities. Operate a driver vehicle safely when transporting equipment or parts between job sites. Utilize welding skills for system fabrication or repair when necessary; handle ammonia refrigeration systems with specialized knowledge. Experience Proven experience as a service technician in residential HVAC installation and maintenance. Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in equipment repair across HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning / Refrigeration) systems. Familiarity with schematics, blueprints, HVAC design principles, and property maintenance procedures. Experience working with refrigeration systems including ammonia refrigeration is a plus. Knowledge of plumbing related to HVAC systems; ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical issues using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters. Field service experience demonstrating the ability to diagnose problems efficiently and perform repairs on-site under time constraints. Basic welding skills for system fabrication or repair tasks; familiarity with boiler operation is advantageous. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; experience operating various mechanical tools and equipment necessary for installation or repair tasks.
