Position Overview The HVAC Service Technician will be responsible for diagnosing, servicing, repairing, and maintaining residential heating and cooling systems. This role requires technical skill, strong communication, professionalism, and the ability to represent AVU well in customers' homes. We are looking for someone who can troubleshoot systems, explain options clearly, document work properly, and deliver a customer experience that earns trust. Responsibilities Diagnose and repair residential HVAC systems Perform maintenance and system inspections Test electrical components, motors, capacitors, contactors, and related parts Check refrigerant pressures, airflow, temperature split, and system operation Inspect drain lines, filters, ductwork, and overall system condition Communicate findings clearly with homeowners Provide repair and replacement recommendations when needed Complete job notes, photos, invoices, and documentation accurately Maintain a clean, stocked, and professional service vehicle Follow company processes, safety standards, and service expectations Represent AVU Heating & Air with professionalism, honesty, and pride What We Are Looking For Previous HVAC service experience required Strong troubleshooting ability Ability to communicate clearly with customers and team members Clean, professional appearance Valid driver's license Dependable attendance and work ethic Ability to work independently and as part of a team Willingness to follow company processes and improve daily EPA certification preferred NATE certification is a plus, but not required Our Core ValuesLeadership Leaders set the standard for others to follow.
