Full Job Description Commercial HVAC Installer Location:
Corpus Christi, TX Position Summary The Commercial HVAC Installer is responsible for installing, replacing, and commissioning commercial HVAC equipment and systems in accordance with manufacturer specifications, project plans, and company standards. This role will primarily focus on installations while assisting with service calls, equipment start-ups, preventative maintenance, and minor troubleshooting as needed. Responsibilities Install commercial HVAC equipment including rooftop units (RTUs), split systems, package units, heat pumps, air handlers, condensers, exhaust fans, and ventilation equipment. Install refrigerant piping, condensate drains, ductwork modifications, controls, and related mechanical components. Read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings, and equipment submittals. Perform equipment change-outs and retrofit installations. Start up newly installed equipment and verify proper operation. Perform equipment testing and commissioning. Assist Service Technicians with troubleshooting and repairs during peak service periods. Complete preventative maintenance and basic service repairs when assigned. Diagnose common HVAC mechanical and electrical issues. Maintain accurate job documentation, material usage, and daily reports. Communicate professionally with customers, project managers, and field supervisors. Ensure all work complies with OSHA safety standards and company safety policies. Maintain company tools, vehicles, and equipment in a clean and organized condition. Participate in after-hours or emergency service rotation as needed. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications 3+ years of commercial HVAC installation experience preferred. Experience installing commercial HVAC systems and equipment. Basic service and troubleshooting experience preferred. EPA Universal Certification preferred (or ability to obtain). Ability to read wiring diagrams, blueprints, and mechanical drawings. Working knowledge of refrigeration cycle and HVAC controls. Experience with sheet metal fabrication and duct modifications is a plus. Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Physical Requirements Lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Work safely on ladders, rooftops, lifts, and scaffolding. Ability to work outdoors in South Texas weather conditions. Frequent bending, kneeling, climbing, and standing for extended periods. Comfortable working in mechanical rooms, rooftops, and construction environments.
