Duties Diagnose and repair a wide range of HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, and mechanical systems using schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic tools like ohmmeters. Install, maintain, and upgrade HVAC equipment including air conditioning units, boilers, ammonia refrigeration systems, and other mechanical components. Read and interpret schematics and HVAC design plans to ensure precise system installation and troubleshooting. Perform routine maintenance tasks such as filter replacements, system calibrations, and component inspections to optimize performance. Conduct field service visits to client sites for emergency repairs or scheduled maintenance, ensuring minimal downtime. Utilize welding skills for equipment repair or fabrication when necessary; operate forklifts or drivers to transport heavy machinery safely. Document all service activities thoroughly and communicate clearly with clients regarding system status or required follow-up. Requirements Proven experience as a service technician within the HVAC or refrigeration industry; construction background is highly valued. Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to read schematics, technical manuals, and HVAC design documents. Hands-on experience with refrigeration systems—including ammonia refrigeration—and familiarity with HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning / Refrigeration) technologies. Proficiency in using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters for electrical troubleshooting; experience with appliance repair and property maintenance is a plus. Ability to perform plumbing work and operate welding equipment safely; knowledge of boiler systems is advantageous. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; experience operating drivers preferred. Excellent field service skills with the ability to work independently in diverse environments under safety guidelines.
