HVAC Maintenance Technician

Duties Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on HVAC systems, refrigeration units, boilers, plumbing fixtures, and mechanical equipment to ensure continuous operation. Troubleshoot complex HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning / Refrigeration) systems using schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters. Repair and replace components including compressors, motors, valves, belts, filters, and electrical wiring to restore system functionality promptly. Conduct field service visits at various properties to diagnose issues on-site and execute repairs efficiently while maintaining high safety standards. Use welding techniques and mechanical knowledge to repair or modify equipment as needed; interpret schematics for accurate troubleshooting. Assist with HVAC design modifications or upgrades by providing technical insights based on operational needs. Maintain detailed records of service activities, repairs performed, parts used, and system conditions for compliance and future reference. Requirements Proven experience as a service technician in HVAC/R systems with a strong background in construction or property maintenance environments. Hands-on experience with refrigeration systems including ammonia refrigeration is highly desirable. Mechanical knowledge of plumbing systems, boilers, appliances repair, and equipment repair is essential. Ability to read schematics and technical diagrams accurately; familiarity with HVAC design principles is a plus. Proficiency with diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters; experience with welding and mechanical repairs required. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; ability to operate driver vehicles safely across multiple sites. Demonstrated mechanic experience including field service work on commercial or industrial equipment. Knowledge of HVAC/R safety standards and procedures; ability to work in confined spaces or at heights when necessary. Strong problem-solving skills combined with excellent communication abilities to collaborate effectively with team members and clients.
