Hours:
40 hours per week, standard Monday- Friday 7:00am- 3:30pm, flexibility is required on evenings and weekends.

Commensurate with experience and education.
Required Application Materials:
Resume Position Summary Installs heating, ventilating, air conditioning, and refrigeration equipment for conformance to safety laws and regulations and approved plans and specifications. Performs installation, maintenance, repair, and retrofit of HVAC systems for the University's facilities, including monitoring HVAC systems operations and assuring routine preventive maintenance; including working with electrical systems and/or components. Performs special projects such as installation of HVAC systems for offices, and other facilities. Responsible for HVAC Control Room system and University-wide refrigerant recovery, and recycling compliance. Performs upgrades to building systems. Responsible for the University's HVAC installations, as necessary. Obtains permits for HVAC and mechanical systems installation in the University's facilities. Checks, repairs, and/or replaces valves, motors, controls, switches, gauges, wiring, fans, pumps, compressors, condensers, cores, pipes, and other functional components of HVAC systems, to include electrical systems and/or components. Maintains water treatment systems. Operates and utilizes energy management systems. (DESIGO) Building Automation System. Performs all work with adherence to safety procedures and code specifications. Accountable for direct expenses relative to labor, parts, and materials. May orient, train, assign, and check the work of lower-level employees. Complies with all applicable University policies, procedures, and code of ethics as well as all applicable governmental laws and regulations including employment, safety, and environmental standards and regulations. Performs other general building repair and maintenance functions related to electrical, plumbing, electronics, etc. as needed. Compliance with all State and University policies. Able to work various schedules and be on call. Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Required Qualifications:
Education:
Associate's Degree in Applied Science (Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning), equivalent certificate from a trade school, or completion of an equivalent apprenticeship program; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. and
Experience:
Three years of experience, related to the statement of duties and responsibilities; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Occasional travel may be required.
Note:
This position requires a valid, state issued drivers license.
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of computerized control systems for HVAC and related building systems. Knowledge and skills in reading blueprints, wiring diagrams, and trace control circuits. Mechanical aptitude and background and good manual dexterity. Applies mastery of skill in area of specialization. Adapts procedures, techniques, tools, materials, and/or equipment to meet special needs. Ability to braze and install refrigerant piping, evacuate, recharge, and start-up HVAC equipment. Ability to plan and prioritize daily tasks accordingly. Valid driver's license and must comply with the University Driving Policy. Ability to maintain a strong sense of propriety concerning HVAC systems. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with managers, fellow employees, representatives of other departments, outside consultants, and the public.
