In this energetic role, you will diagnose, troubleshoot, and service a wide range of HVAC equipment, including refrigeration units, boilers, air conditioning systems, and building automation controls. Your expertise will ensure optimal performance, energy efficiency, and safety across diverse property environments. Responsibilities Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on HVAC systems, including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration equipment, and mechanical systems. Diagnose electrical issues using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters and troubleshoot electrical components within HVAC/R systems. Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and HVAC design documents to accurately identify issues and implement solutions. Repair plumbing and mechanical systems related to HVAC operations, ensuring compliance with safety standards such as EPA regulations for refrigerants. Utilize building automation systems to optimize system performance and troubleshoot control issues effectively. Conduct welding and equipment repairs as needed to restore system functionality promptly. Maintain detailed service records, complete shift reports, and document all repairs performed for accountability and future reference. Experience Proven experience as an HVAC service technician or in a similar field service role within construction or property maintenance environments. Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience repairing mechanical systems such as boilers, pumps, fans, and refrigeration units. Familiarity with schematics, HVAC design principles, electrical diagnostics, plumbing systems, and refrigeration technology. Experience working with ammonia refrigeration systems is a plus. Valid EPA certification for refrigerant handling is required; additional certifications in HVAC/R or building automation are advantageous. Ability to operate diagnostic tools like ohmmeters and welding equipment safely and effectively. Prior experience in appliance repair or property maintenance roles is beneficial for understanding diverse building systems.
