Position Overview
We are seeking skilled and dependable HVAC Assistants to support lead installers and technicians in the installation, replacement, and servicing of residential and/or commercial heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. The HVAC Assistant is responsible for preparing job sites, handling tools and materials, assisting with equipment installation, and maintaining a safe and organized work environment. This position requires physical stamina, mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a strong willingness to learn.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Assist lead HVAC Installer with installation of residential and/or commercial HVAC systems
Carry and stage equipment, tools, and materials at job sites
Assist with removal of old HVAC units and components
Help install ductwork, refrigerant lines, insulation, and basic electrical components under supervision
Support brazing, vacuum pulling, and system charging procedures as directed
Cut, measure, and assemble materials accurately
Secure and fasten units, brackets, and supports
Maintain clean and organized job sites before, during, and after installations
Load and unload trucks with equipment and materials
Follow all OSHA and company safety procedures
Perform basic tool handling and equipment setup
Assist with ladder setup and material handling in attics, rooftops, and confined spaces
Minimum Qualifications
2+ years of HVAC installation experience
Must have HVAC Tools
Basic understanding of refrigeration cycle and airflow principles
Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams
Experience using HVAC installation tools and equipment
Ability to work overtime, weekends, or extended shifts as required
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with commercial rooftop units (RTUs)
Strong troubleshooting and commissioning knowledge
Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
Work Environment
Residential, commercial, and construction job sites
Exposure to extreme heat and cold conditions
Work in attics, rooftops, crawl spaces, and confined areas
Outdoor work in varying weather conditions
Fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Exposure to refrigerants, electrical components, and power tools
Safety protocols and PPE must be followed at all times.
Physical and Mental Requirements
Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 75 lbs.
Ability to climb ladders and work at heights
Ability to bend, kneel, crouch, and work in confined spaces
Prolonged standing and walking
Manual dexterity to handle tools and equipment
Strong attention to detail
Ability to solve problems under pressure
Ability to follow technical instructions and safety guidelines
Strong time management and organizational skills
