Operations Manager Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior HVAC-R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning & Refrigeration) Technician to join our team. With a minimum of 10 years of industry experience, the ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, installing, and maintaining complex HVAC and refrigeration systems across residential, commercial, and light industrial environments. This senior role also involves mentoring junior technicians and supporting technical leadership in the field.
Key Responsibilities:
Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain all types of HVAC and refrigeration systems, including split systems, RTUs, chillers, freezers, walk-in coolers, and controls. Install new systems and ensure compliance with manufacturer guidelines, local codes, and industry standards. Perform advanced diagnostics on electrical and mechanical components, refrigerant systems, and automation controls. Provide leadership and guidance to junior technicians on job sites. Communicate effectively with clients regarding system issues, service options, and preventive maintenance plans. Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and recommendations for future service. Ensure all work complies with safety standards and regulations (OSHA, EPA, etc.). Participate in on-call rotation for emergency service and support.
Qualifications:
Minimum 10 years of hands-on experience in HVAC and refrigeration service and installation. Valid EPA Universal Certification. Strong understanding of refrigeration cycles, heat load calculations, and building automation systems. Proficient in reading schematics, blueprints, and wiring diagrams. Skilled in using HVAC diagnostic tools, meters, and recovery equipment. Excellent communication, organizational, and customer service skills. Ability to lead projects and work independently with minimal supervision. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Ability to lift 50+ lbs, work on ladders, rooftops, and in confined spaces.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with energy management systems (EMS), VAV, VRF/VRV systems. Proficiency in commercial refrigeration (ice machines, prep tables, display cases). Experience with digital service platforms and reporting tools (ServiceTitan, FieldEdge, etc.). NATE certification or manufacturer training (e.g., Trane, Carrier, Daikin) is a plus. Why Join Us?
