Job Description

Operations Manager & Lead HVAC, Boiler, and Appliance Service Technician Park City, UT
  • Full-Time
  • $70,000
  • $85,000 THE
OPPORTUNITY
This is not a technician role where you show up, run calls, and go home. We are building a property services operation from the ground up and hiring the leader to shape how it runs, who it hires, and how it grows. Mountain West Vacation Rentals and Park City Mountain Management are established names in Wasatch Back property management. We are standing up a dedicated services division to handle the HVAC, boiler, and appliance needs of our managed properties and other external properties faster and at a higher standard than outside vendors can deliver. We need a lead technician who is fully licensed, credentialed, and capable of running every job independently from day one and who has the ambition to grow into an operations leadership role as we expand. For the right candidate, this position includes a clear path to operational management, meaningful profit and equity participation, and a significant stake in the business we build together.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
In the near term, you operate as our lead field technician — the person on the ground making sure every property in our portfolio runs the way it should. As the team grows, your role shifts toward managing, supervising, and building the operation.
  • Residential HVAC service, repair, and maintenance (forced air, heat pumps, mini-splits)
  • Hydronic and boiler system diagnostics and repair
  • Residential appliance service and repair
  • Water heater repair, and replacement
  • On-call and emergency response (expected to reduce as the team scales and additional technicians are hired)
  • Job documentation and maintenance recordkeeping
  • Over time: hiring, training, and supervising junior technicians
GROWTH PATH
Year 1: Primary field technician — establish service standards, client relationships, and the operational foundation of the division. Years 2-3: Transition into an operations leadership role as we hire additional technicians. Manage schedules, oversee quality, train new hires.
Long-term:
Operations Manager / General Manager with reduced field obligation, full supervisory authority, and significant profit participation in the division's growth.
REQUIREMENTS
Required
  • Utah
S350 HVAC
Contractor License (or H100) — must be able to serve as the license qualifier for the business
  • Utah S410 Boiler, Pipeline & Water Conditioner Contractor License
  • RMGA (Rocky Mountain Gas Association) Certification
  • Minimum 2 years / 4,000 hours of verified HVAC experience (required to serve as qualifier)
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience with heating, cooling, and boiler systems
  • Ability to work fully independently and manage own schedule without supervision
  • Must pass a background check Strongly Preferred
  • Reside in or be willing to relocate to the greater Park City area or Wasatch Back
  • Water heater installation and repair experience
  • Residential appliance repair experience
  • EPA Section 608 Certification
  • B100 General Building Contractor License
  • P200 General Plumbing Contractor License
COMPENSATION & STRUCTURE
Base salary: $70,000
  • $85,000, commensurate with experience and certifications.
Candidates with a stronger credential profile may be considered above the posted range. Additional compensation includes vehicle/mileage reimbursement, tool support as the business grows, on-call/emergency pay, and additional spiff and bonus eligbility. For the right candidate, this role includes a structured profit participation agreement reflecting a vested, meaningful stake in the financial success of the division as it scales. The specifics are discussed with qualified candidates and reflect their ambition and long-term commitment to the business. This position does not currently include company-sponsored health insurance. We are a growing small business and want to be are transparent about that upfront.
A NOTE ON SCHEDULE
This role requires Monday through Friday availability with on-call and emergency coverage. The early phase of the role carries a heavier on-call obligation than the long-term role will — as additional technicians join and the team matures, on-call rotation is distributed and that burden decreases.
Pay:
$70,000.00
  • $85,000.
00 per year
