Plumbing/ HVAC Technician Cascade Plumbing West Valley City, UT Job Details Full-time $35 - $40 an hour 23 hours ago Benefits Fuel card Opportunities for advancement Qualifications Customer communication Driver's License Full Job Description Experienced Plumbing / HVAC Service Technician We are seeking a skilled and reliable Plumbing / HVAC Service Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in residential and/or commercial plumbing and HVAC service and repair, a strong work ethic, and the ability to provide high-quality service to our customers. You will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, installing, and maintaining plumbing, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems while ensuring all work meets local codes and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Diagnose, repair, and maintain residential and commercial plumbing and HVAC systems, including water, gas, drainage, heating, cooling, ventilation, and indoor air quality equipment. Troubleshoot plumbing and HVAC issues, identify root causes, and recommend effective solutions. Repair or replace water heaters, boilers, furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, mini-split systems, thermostats, plumbing fixtures, piping, valves, drains, and other plumbing/HVAC components. Perform service calls, inspections, and preventative maintenance for residential and commercial customers. Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, plumbing schematics, and technical specifications when necessary. Ensure compliance with state and local plumbing, mechanical, building codes, regulations, and safety standards. Provide accurate estimates and explain repair or replacement options to customers. Collaborate with contractors, builders, and other trades when necessary. Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time spent on jobs. Provide excellent customer service and communicate effectively with clients. Train or guide apprentices when needed. Identify potential plumbing and HVAC system issues and recommend preventative maintenance solutions.
Qualifications:
Journeyman Plumber License preferred (where applicable). EPA Certification preferred but not required. Minimum of 5 years of experience in the plumbing and/or HVAC trade. Strong knowledge of plumbing and HVAC systems, tools, controls, and service techniques. Experience diagnosing and repairing residential and commercial plumbing and HVAC systems. Ability to read and interpret technical documents, wiring diagrams, plumbing schematics, and blueprints. Physical ability to perform plumbing and HVAC tasks, including lifting, climbing, working on rooftops, ladders, in crawl spaces, and confined areas. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Preferred Skills:
Experience servicing and installing water heaters, boilers, furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, and mini-split systems. Drain cleaning, leak detection, and water distribution system repair experience. Refrigeration troubleshooting and repair experience. HVAC controls and thermostat diagnostics. Gas piping installation and repair. Retrofit and remodel experience. Prior experience in both residential and commercial plumbing and HVAC service. Strong problem-solving and communication skills. Experience with preventative maintenance programs, system performance testing, and energy-efficiency recommendations.
